The Tonsbergs owned the noble seat of the manor Ulveland i Eiker (translated roughly Wolf Land on Spokes manor). Wilhelm inherited the farm from his father. Shortly before the death of his father he was appointed Prefect of Bergen and later became the Governor of Christiansand.
