Stiftamtmand of Bergen 1705, in Christiania 1710-31; deputies of the Castle Law, the Assessor Overhofretten. White Knight 1723. Dygtig, employ embedsmand and for his joviality and omgjængelighet very popular. Had his embedsbolig in Raadhusgaten 7; owned Wolf Country paa Eker and considerable land. The Tonsbergs owned the noble seat of the manor Ulveland i Eiker (translated roughly Wolf Land on Spokes manor). Wilhelm inherited the farm from his father. Shortly before the death of his father he was appointed Prefect of Bergen and later became the Governor of Christiansand.
